"Get up very early, about 6:30 and we take a ride down to Spring Lake and back up to Asbury," says Jim Rokosny, of Ocean Grove.

Early risers wanted to get the day started before the heat becomes unbearable.

"We were coming out here at seven, but the heat is so oppressive," says Lyddale Akins, of Neptune. "So, we try to get out here about 5:45, 6:00 and we have a team of us out here. We get out early, walking 10,000 steps a day."
