Talking with Lindsay Schwimer, Hopper's consumer travel expert, she says to save the most money, you have to follow the deal, not the destination.
Schwimer says being flexible can save you the most money, saying, "Flying midweek Tuesday or Wednesday can save you about $100 roundtrip off your airfare. Avoiding those peak weekend dates is really going to be the best way to save as well as hotel stays. If you can avoid that Saturday night stay and check in on Sunday or Monday those are going to be cheaper nights to stay than a Saturday night."
She also recommends tracking the trip as well. Have alerts sent to your phone so you know when the price drops.
