A teenage girl was killed and a 25-year old woman was wounded in a Newark shooting early Saturday morning, officials say.
The shooting happened along South 10th Street around 12:30 a.m.
The teen who was shot has been identified as 15-year-old Haniyah Woods, a student at West Side High School.
Woods was rushed to University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The woman who was injured was grazed by a gunshot. Her name has not yet been released.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is handling the investigation. There is no word on a possible suspect or motive in the case at this time, and it's unclear if the victims were the intended targets.
