Seven people were hospitalized after an early morning crash Sunday between a car and a fire truck in Teaneck. Two young children and three firefighters were among those injured.
Firefighters were racing to a call when the car smashed into them at the busy intersection of Queen Anne Road and DeGraw Avenue. Although the accident is still under investigation, officials say it highlights the dangers for emergency vehicles on the roadways.
Firefighters face myriad dangers on the job, but many departments throughout the state say a rise in road accidents has become a greater concern.
The Teaneck firefighters were released from the hospital, but the conditions of the family members has not been released. The accident is the second in the past week involving a fire truck.
