The superintendent of the Kenilworth School District accused of defecating on a school track in Holmdel will resign, effective at the end of September.
Thomas Tramaglini's, 42, contract was supposed to go through the year 2020.
In a statement, Kenilworth schools say the resignation is in the best interest of the district and Tramaglini.
Tramaglini served as the superintendent since 2016.
According to Holmdel police, they were alerted by Holmdel High School staff after the human feces were found over the course of several months. Police and staff monitored the area, which led police to identify the suspect as Tramaglini.
