Summer begins today on a cool note; rainy weather expected this week

Summer will officially begin at 10:58 a.m. on Wednesday, but with cooler temperatures.
Storm Watch Team meteorologists say they are also tracking some rain and the potential for thunderstorms throughout the week. They say that while there isn't any day that will be a soaker, rain will be in the forecast for at least the next 10 days.
WHAT’S NEXT: The Garden State will see wetter and more unsettled weather later this week. Chances of rain really ramp up Thursday and perhaps into Friday as well. Although temperatures warm up for the weekend, rain/storm chances persist over the weekend as well.
WEDNESDAY: First day of summer. Mostly cloudy skies with the potential for rain and thunderstorms. Daytime highs around 77 degrees. Overnight lows around 62.
THURSDAY: More rain is expected. Daytime highs slightly cooler around 72 degrees. Overnight lows around 62.
FRIDAY: Showers and a few thunderstorms likely with highs around 78 degrees. Lows around 66.
WEEKEND: Mostly cloudy with a little bit of sunshine peeking through. Daytime temperatures in the low- to mid-80s. Overnight lows in the upper-60s.
