Study: Younger people view sports gambling more favorably compared to those above age 55
Researchers say those living in states where sports gambling is legal are more likely to have a positive opinion on it.

More people are becoming open to sports gambling, according to a new study from Sacred Heart University shared exclusively with News 12.
Over 76% of those surveyed say sports gambling is becoming more socially acceptable.
The study also finds those between the ages of 18 and 54 were more likely to view it favorably compared to those above the age of 55.
Experts say one factor is accessibility.
"This is something you can do on your phone. It's not too different from another app, actually it's exactly like another app. And you're playing a game on your phone and that obviously resonated with younger generations, so I definitely think that is driving some of this," says Dr. Andrew Miller of Sacred Heart University.
More than half of the people who took part in the study say gambling makes sports more engaging.
However, nearly the same number of people also say sports gambling has raised concerns about corruption or match-fixing.
