There was a heartwarming celebration for a young woman in Lyndhurst Wednesday evening.
Gianna, 19, has DiGeorge syndrome and scoliosis. She recently underwent surgery and now has two rods and several screws in her back.
Her fellow classmates at Lyndhurst High School showed up outside her home to celebrate her. Students and teachers paraded past her home, along with a police and fire escort.
“She’s a princess warrior, like she’s been called all her life. Her mother refers to her as a princess warrior. She deals with so much adversity and overcomes it. She’s one of the most beautiful people we’ve ever been around,” says Rich Tuero.
The football team, band, color guard and cheer team also came out to the celebration.
