A child was seriously injured when a school bus overturned on Interstate 195 in Wall Township Thursday morning, according to New Jersey State Police.
The crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of the highway near Exit 35B.
State police tell News 12 that the Seman-Tov bus collided with a white GMC van and overturned. In addition to the child who was seriously injured, the driver and three other juvenile passengers suffered minor injuries. All were taken to a hospital, while the van driver was unharmed, according to police.
All lanes on I-195 were closed for a time but have since reopened.
A statement from Monmouth County Vocational School District says the bus had been heading to Communications High School at the time of the crash.
