Stratford police are sounding the alarm on a lottery, sweepstakes and inheritance scams.
Scams are being made by phone, email and by letter, sometimes with the letterhead from an actual law firm.
People are being contacted about winning things they never entered -- or about an inheritance to collect.
Fraudsters are requesting bank information.
Police say it's not a prize if you have to pay up front. They say not to respond to these messages, to never give out personal information and to report any incidents.
