The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking the public’s help identifying the person responsible for shooting a 4-year-old girl in Asbury Park.
The shooting happened Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. outside the girl’s home on Boston Way. The child was shot in the upper thigh, breaking the child’s leg.
“Enough is enough,” prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said in a statement. “We have a toddler who was struck and injured by a stray bullet while sitting outsider her apartment in the middle of the day…These senseless acts of violence must stop.”
The child is expected to fully recover.
Police did not release a description of the suspect.
