Former Catholic school teacher charged with sexual assault

A 42-year-old former Catholic school teacher from Rockway Township has been charged with sexual assault.
Authorities say Carlos A. Franco-Leon allegedly committed sexual acts on two minor female students he knew while he was working as a teacher and volleyball coach at Morris Catholic High School in Denville.
They say the acts allegedly occurred on various occasions between 2015 and 2019.
Franco-Leon's employment with Morris Catholic High School ended in 2018.
Franco-Leon has been charged with six counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
He was being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.
