The New York Guardians XFL team now has a quarterback

The New York Guardians XFL team has locked in its quarterback while the draft is underway.
Taking the position is former Penn State standout Matt McGloin, who played several seasons in the NFL for the Chiefs, Eagles, Raiders and Texans.
“For me, it's another opportunity to compete at an extremely high level and the opportunity to work with Coach [Kevin] Gilbride will only help me become a better player and a better quarterback,” McGloin says.
McGloin says that he is excited to work with the team at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. He says that even after his career in the NFL, he knew that his time playing football wasn’t over.
“I've always stayed in shape and continued to train because I felt my journey wasn't over and obviously I wanted to continue to play,” he says. “I got out healthy. I feel great. I feel strong and that I can play at a high level so the XFL came calling and gave me what I felt was a great opportunity.”
The Guardians begin training camp in December.
The XFL draft wraps up on Wednesday. The league officially begins its season in February, a week after the Super Bowl.
