Authorities in Bergen County arrested a man accused of slaying his own parents Saturday, ending an extensive manhunt.
Officials say they caught up to the suspect, 43-year-old Pawel Boduch, at a ShopRite parking lot off of Palisades Avenue in Englewood.
Mayor Michael Wildes says Pawel Boduch left the car in the parking lot after leaving his parent's house and was arrested when he came back for it.
The killings happened inside of the parents' home on Lafayette Place, which is located less than a mile away from the Shop Rite.
Family members say that they became concerned for Edward Boduch, 71, and Miroslawa Potocka, 72, after not hearing from the couple Saturday morning.
Police were called just before 11 a.m. They say they found the bodies of Boduch and Potocka, and both had been stabbed to death.
Officials then launched a manhunt for Pawel Boduch, whose listed address is the same as his parent's home.
Pawel Boduch faces charges including murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Prosecutors have not commented on the motive.
Pawel Boduch was expected in court Sunday afternoon in Hackensack, but the hearing was postponed until Tuesday at the request of the court. It will be held at Bergen County Superior Court.
