Slick spots and black ice will be concerns for the morning rush across the Hudson Valley. Lingering moisture from yesterday, barely a breeze and temps into the low 30s could allow black ice to form in spots, especially on overpasses, bridges, on/off ramps and side streets. Be on the lookout for that as you go out and about to get your day going. Conditions will improve quickly after the morning rush, as temperatures rise and some sunshine breaks through the clouds.
Patchy fog returns and may become denser overnight tonight as another system heads our way, pushing moisture along the way. Rain showers will also come with this system, falling as early as the pre-dawn hours on Thursday. We can expect on and off rainy batches through Thursday, adding up towards 0.5 to 1.0" of rain. Thankfully, the chance of seeing any wintry mix along with the rain is very low to none.
Rain showers fade early Friday with sunshine to return for the rest of the day. Temperatures will move towards seasonal levels for Friday, with highs into the mid-40s, and then move up some more for the weekend ahead. This weekend we "Spring Forward" with Daylight Saving Time starting Sunday morning. At 2 a.m. Sunday, the clocks will jump forward an hour.
