The weather pattern is beginning to quiet down some. Temperatures for tonight through Friday should be near or just slightly below what they would normally be for the last week of March.
However, the winds will switch direction on Friday night. A strong flow of southern air, coupled with plenty of sunshine, will help the airmass to warm quickly. The question is just how warm?
Right now, the forecast has temperatures in the mid- to upper 70s. But if everything comes together perfectly, we could see 80s in a bunch of New Jersey neighborhoods for Saturday afternoon. That would be the warmest so far this year and the warmest since Nov. 6 or 7.
The weather on Saturday looks spectacular. Sunny and very warm. Sunday switches to more cloud coverage. With that blanket, afternoon highs won't be as warm but will still be above average. A few spotty showers could be around as well.
I'm expecting some atmospheric fireworks on Monday afternoon/evening. Thunderstorms could be roaming around for the evening drive home. Something the News12 New Jersey Storm Watch Team will continue to monitor.
