Storm Watch Team meteorologists say the weekend is not a complete washout, but Sunday is the worst day of the two. He says rain totals over the next couple of days could exceed 2 inches in South Jersey.
WHAT’S NEW: Strong and severe storms crossed the state. Multiple severe thunderstorm warnings that were in place have all been dropped, and all severe warnings have been dropped for now. Skies have cleared and sunshine could lead to more storms heading our way this afternoon.
WHAT’S NEXT: Another round of severe storms is possible later today and into tonight as well. The heat wave is done but it’s still humid outside. Highs over the weekend are in the 80s with more rain on the way, especially Sunday.
TODAY: Daytime highs in the low- to mid-80s. Humidity expected to be high. Overnight lows cool to the low-70s.
SATURDAY: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy. Warm and very humid. Daytime highs in the upper-80s, but it will feel like the upper-90s. Overnight lows around 74.
SUNDAY: Another chance for a stormy day. Daytime highs around 85 degrees. Overnight lows around 74.
MONDAY: Storms clear to give way for mostly sunny skies. Daytime highs around 92 degrees. Overnight lows around 74.
COMING UP: Temperatures for the upcoming week are expected to be in the mid-80s. Chance for storms by next Friday.
