Cloudy, cool, and damp conditions persist through today as a cooler marine air mass settles over New Jersey. This is where temperatures take a break from the higher heat of the week.

The heat returns tomorrow midday as highs surge back into the 70s from south and lifting north as the cooler air retreats. This front for Friday will allow warmer air to last through the weekend. There can be a passing shower or two on Friday.

Saturday's conditions are warmer with highs in the mid-70s and even lower 80s inland. Coastal areas will run a bit cooler due to the sea breeze. It will be fair with a mix of sun and clouds.

Sunday looks good to start with mild conditions. A cold front passes by sometime in the mid-afternoon to deliver thunderstorms that usher in cooler weather for Monday. Temperatures on Sunday will reach the lower 70s before storms arrive. Monday's temperature will be near 60 degrees as a result of the cooler air.
