Dangerous travel and hazardous icing are the primary impact of weather today with slippery conditions on untreated surfaces. The icing will take hold of stairs, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and sideroads. The slippery conditions can lead to vehicle crashes and slips and falls.
Weather conditions improve this afternoon with highs just shy of 40 degrees and melting conditions. The sky will gradually clear overnight into tomorrow with a beautiful day.
Highs tomorrow will be between 40-45 degrees with a mostly sunny sky.
Clouds increase on Saturday ahead of the next storm that is set to arrive overnight into Sunday. This is likely to arrive after 8PM on Saturday night and continue into the early morning Sunday, producing 3-6 inches of snow in our northern zones and 1-3 inches in our central areas. This snow will be over near sunrise on Sunday, but it will require a cleanup.
Conditions improve for Sunday midday as people head out to Super Bowl parties and functions for the afternoon and evening.
There is another storm on the periphery for Tuesday night into Wednesday, which will be reviewed at a later time as we monitor and track the weekend first.
