To some of us the 1990s and 2000s might not seem like that long ago. But in the world of collectibles, items from this era are becoming nostalgic, or retro, you might say.
Before the trend became popular, Gen Zer Mike Theophil began collecting VHS tapes, DVDs, CRT TV's, video game consoles and memorabilia.
The bundle encompasses Nickelodeon and Disney originals, Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Pokémon — just to name a few -- along with some of the most popular sit-coms and films from the 90s-2000s.
The collection of over 2,500 videos serves as the backdrop for Downtime TV's production studio at the Knowlton in Bridgeport. There, they create, but are not limited to, entertainment, sports and gaming video podcasts.
They also produce fan-made films, including "Mighty Morphin Power Plumbers" and "Mighty Morphin Power Plumbers 2."
Just recently, the team decided to turn their space into a mini–Retro Revival Museum where people can visit and immerse themselves in the years that transitioned into the new millennium.
Fans can come and take an audio and visual tour - but most of all - relive their childhood and literally step back in time.
