Let's get outside to Jack Ford in Summit. He's in Bryant Park having some fun on the sled. Now, Jack, are you gonna go down the sled this time? You know what, you and Ella were making fun of me a little bit. Say, I said I was old and I didn't want to go down the sled. I, I, I've changed my mind. I've recruited a few kids here. We are gonna go on a sled ride. First of all, guys, uh, so we have Penelope, Oliver, Quinn. Guys, tell me what your favorite part about the snow day is. Um, uh, I don't know. He doesn't know. It's OK. Probably sledding, right? My favorite part of the snow day is just being able to just go down the hill as fast as you can and try to beat people. Do you think you're going to beat me? Oh yeah, definitely. OK, she's going to beat me probably. How about you? I like making snow cones and like putting stuff inside of them like I did earlier. Those are some of my favorite things. All right, so. You guys ready to go downhill? I think we're competing for hot chocolate. Who gets the first hot chocolate? I don't know if I have $5 but hot chocolate will do. So here's what we're gonna do. Uh, you're gonna watch the most uncoordinated, uh, news reporter ever go down the hill right now. Hopefully it goes well. Are you, are you guys ready? in just a bit. We're gonna get outside to Jack Ford who is in the elements right now. Jack, you are in Edison. How are the conditions near you? I, yeah, out here in the elements right now, I'm a little jealous I'm not in that nice heated studio, uh, but I will say it's actually pretty peaceful out here. Uh, the temperature's not too bad, you might have the exact numbers for me, but right now the wind isn't really blowing, so it's actually, uh, it feels kind of nice out here. I am in 3 layers though, so keep that in mind. Uh, let's take a look here at the amount of snow that we've actually seen. Uh, this is a rough estimate. I don't necessarily have a ruler on me right now, but I'd say probably about 3 inches. Here at Roosevelt Park for the kids watching at home, I will say this is very packable snow already, not breaking apart at all. A nice little snowball there, and I didn't even really do anything for it. No, I did hear you talking about the roads as well, and I could say that was our biggest issue this morning. We took Thunderbolt 12 out for a spin. Uh, the New Jersey Turnpike, very, very hard to see on the roads, about two lanes of traffic open, and when you're coming on and off the turnpike, really hard to control the car. slick roads there. So if you are out this morning, give yourself some extra time and honestly just stay off the roads altogether. And you can see here at Roosevelt Park, the side roads not so great either. Very slick, very slippery, something to keep in mind when you're out the door this morning. Now we are going to be out and about across New Jersey this morning, uh, checking out the conditions across the state. Hopefully the conditions will improve a little bit as the sun does rise, but for now, live from Roosevelt Park, Jack Ford, New, New Jersey. Jack, we do want people to stay safe out there. You said you were jealous of us being in studio. There's a part of me that's a wee bit jealous of you being able to play with the fresh snow as it comes down before it gets messy. It's a little bit fun. Yeah, exactly.

What are you doing Yeah, well, we've been looking for sledding essentially all morning. We haven't been able to find it. It's kind of fitting that we found it in a place called Summit. So we are joined right now by Megan. So Megan, you are out this morning. Tell me what you guys are doing. We are out here for the first snowfall of the season, sledding bright and early. Um, everyone is super excited and we're gonna have a great time. Is this kind of the best hill in town? This is the best hill in the town. This is where you come and you come early before. Gets overrun by all the teenagers, as much as I love talking to you, I think the main event is right back here. So guys, we got a bunch of kids back here. They're getting ready. They're gonna go down the hill. We did organize a little bit of a news 12 race here. So guys, let's, let's wait for them a little bit to get up to the top here. Are you guys ready to go down the hill? Are you excited? Yeah, you're excited. All right, I join you, but I'm a little scared. All right, you guys ready? 321. Look at that, we got some winners, we got some winners. Look at that absolute athletic competition here in Summit this morning, a wonderful snow day. Uh, you know, I wish I was a little bit younger. I'd probably hurt myself if I was going down the sled somehow because it seems like I always do, but for now, maybe I'll hop on a sled and I'll throw it back to you guys in the studio. Jack, excuse me, you're talking about your age. I'm the one who's a dinosaur and I will take that on. I got Mike over here you know I always say I'm like oh. I'm 24, like I could probably do it, but like, you know, I'm getting a little slow. I don't know. Excuse me. Slowpoke, I'm not talking to you. And I believe that boy is talking about age.
