Money is going out starting today to homeowners who qualify for the Stay NJ property tax relief program in New Jersey.

The program is designed for residents aged 65 and older. It is aimed at encouraging older homeowners to remain in the state rather than retire elsewhere.

Officials say people with disabilities, along with mobile homeowners, can apply for Senior Freeze and Stay NJ benefits.

Applications must be submitted by November, officials said.
