Union Township officials say a state trooper is recovering after a crash while on duty.

The crash happened Sunday afternoon on I-78. Police said the trooper was in his patrol car with lights on helping at the scene of another crash.

An SUV hit the marked car before crashing into another vehicle. The officer had minor injuries.

Police said no charges have been filed so far.
