Fair Lawn officials say the state will test the water this morning to see if it's safe to consume.
However, those results could take 24 to 30 hours.
The senior center was closed yesterday because the bathrooms were not functioning fully according to officials, but will be open today with box lunches available.
The water problems started over the weekend after a water main break in Paterson.
Fair Lawn is a wholesale customer of Passaic Valley Water Commission and it's one of its water sources.
As crews worked on the break, they lost pressure.
Fair Lawn officials say they tapped into neighboring towns like Ridgewood, Hawthorne and Saddle Brook to fill their tanks and finally crews were able to direct water from Paterson back in, but that needs to be flushed out and then worked back in.
Officials are asking residents to not run their sprinklers and conserve water until this is all over.
