Some New Jersey residents may soon receive their ANCHOR program payments.
The New Jersey Department of Treasury says that more than 900,000 benefits sent via direct deposit were scheduled to hit bank accounts on Thursday. The department also says that about 100,000 checks were mailed out on Friday.
“Payments will be distributed on a rolling basis until all eligible applicants receive their benefit,” a spokesperson for the department wrote in a statement.
More than 1 million New Jersey residents will receive their payments over the next week as the first round of ANCHOR property tax relief benefits are distributed.
“The ANCHOR program delivers crucial property tax relief to millions of New Jerseyans at all stages of life,” wrote State Treasurer Elizabeth Maher Muoio.
Applicants can check the status of their benefits online at the state’s
