State AG: Motorcyclist fatally struck by SUV being chased by state troopers

A motorcycle rider was killed when his bike collided with an SUV being pursued by a New Jersey state trooper.
The crash happened just before 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday on County Road 521 in Hope Township.
The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General says that state troopers began following the SUV on Interstate 80. Officials say that the driver of the SUV then exited the highway onto County Road 521 and collided with the motorcycle while trying to merge into a lane.
Officials say the motorcycle rider was thrown from the vehicle, while the SUV went off the road and stopped in a wooded area.
The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials. His identity has not yet been released.
The SUV driver was taken to Hackensack Medical Center for treatment and then released into police custody. The driver is being held at the Warren County Jail for the time being.
