A man is in critical condition following a police-involved shooting in Keansburg, according to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General.
Officials say that police were called on Monday to a home on Seabreeze Way for a welfare check. They say that when officers entered the home, they found a man holding a chainsaw that was powered on. He also possessed numerous weapons, according to officials.
Authorities say that when the man approached the officers with the chainsaw, one of them used a Taser and another officer fired his gun.
The man was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center to be treated for gunshot wounds. He is in critical, but stable condition.
The names of the man and the officers involved were not released.
