A Hawthorne Township man has been charged with allegedly using a hidden camera to record children in his bathroom and attempting to meet with someone whom he believed to be a 13-year-old child.
The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General says that 42-year-old Bradford Flaker was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, luring and attempted sexual assault, as well as multiple counts of manufacturing, possessing, and distributing child sexual abuse material.
“This defendant is charged with allegedly using a hidden camera to secretly record unsuspecting children in his home, sharing those images with others, and attempting to meet a child to sexually assault them,” Attorney General Matt Platkin wrote in a statement. “Fortunately, law enforcement stepped in and arrested the defendant before he could do further harm.”
Officials say Flaker, using the online alias “SKIDDERTECH3,” messaged someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl on a mobile app. That teen was actually an undercover New Jersey state police officer.
Officials say Flaker was arrested after arranging to meet with the undercover officer in a park in Belmar.
