Is it necessary to ditch your Stanley cup?
Lead concerns are continuing to swirl around the insanely popular Stanley tumblers.
The manufacturer admitted lead is used as part of the tumbler's vacuum insulation. They say it's covered by a stainless-steel layer that protects consumers from lead exposure.
"If you are using these cups correctly and they are not broken in terms of their sealant, I don't think you need to be terribly concerned,” Dr. Denis Millstine, of Mayo Clinic.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled some other cup brands in the past due to their use of lead exceeding federal limits.
