Stafford Township police are warning residents about a string of package thefts after they say multiple packages with iPhones inside were stolen.

Police say the recent thefts involved FedEx deliveries. According to authorities, criminals can get the tracking numbers for packages, often containing Apple iPhone, and sell the information to “theft groups.” When the package is delivered, they say the criminal will go to the address and take it.

Stafford Township police say there's been an increase in organized package thefts in the community and throughout the state.

To avoid becoming a victim to this scheme, police recommend scheduling deliveries for when you'll be home, use secure locations like locker services and require a signature.
