Piscataway is celebrating all things Greek with the 50th annual four-day Greek Festival.
The annual event featuring music, dancing, vendors and Greek food runs through the weekend.
Volunteers in the kitchen tell News 12 New Jersey that they had nearly 100 online orders before the festival began. One of the most popular items is the gyro. They are expected to make about 7,000 of them throughout the festival.
Other popular food items include spinach pie and baklava.
“Our mission when we first started the festival is to promote Greek culture,” says volunteer Demetrios Arhontoulis.
The festival runs until 9 p.m. on Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturday and 12-8 p.m. on Sunday.
