Welcome. Good to have you here. Thank you for having me. I love that picture. Tell me about the dance styles. You're welcome uh that you will offer at the studio. So we offer a little bit of everything. So we start off with ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical and then we kind of swing in and have our adult classes and we do a little bit of Bollywood extreme hip hop hip hop ballet for adults and of course soul line dancing and heels to get them spicy on a Saturday every Sunday every once in a while. That, that's so cool. We have, we have classes for the whole family. So 2.5, 2 adult, we have classes for everyone. And when are they available? We're at the studio almost every day. It's my second home. So every day is kind of a kid class. We always have them. Our Saturdays are heavy with our babies, 2.5 to about six or so. And then our adults, they always come on a Wednesday and Sundays to take class with us. What kind of feedback do you get? I'm looking at what you have on the video. Go for it. Oh, that's our, our mis doing our, their taps performance team performing in Montclair. Oh, yes. At first their first dance competition winning. Yes. So the, the community, we love being in the Montclair community and we get great feedback from them because we're bringing a sense of community while dancing and learning about dance. Um And it's also a very safe space for our dancers um because so many things can go on at home or at school, but they know they can come to the studio and just relax, have fun and they make a lot of long lasting friendships at the studio as well. So um we like to think of it to be like a safe space and it's also, I love the fact that it's a combination of our big kids also making little sisters as well. So you growing your family with all of that that's happening. So it's not that you're coming in, you could be a single child in your home and you're leaving and you have 25 new sisters all ages. And we have a great community of dance moms and dance dads as well. So it's just not beyond which is in our title. The Dance is Beyond Dance because we all have like a great, like relationship up there. Everyone's helping everyone carpooling, getting to performances, hair make up. It's a little bit of everything.

As you can see by the logo we have back here. We have Tiffany Taylor here in Studio Skyler. We also have Nikita Helm Frazier. We also have Kyle, tell me about your programs and who was the inspiration behind it? So, Boogie Boogie baby started when I was at home with Skyler trying to figure out how to work out, earn some money but had to keep her with me. So, um I created Boogie Boogie Babies, which is a baby and me dance program. Uh We sing songs, we're gonna find motor skills and um for the past, I'm going on seven years now. We travel to local libraries and we do story time. Um We've been to over 100 libraries within the state and a, a few in New York as well. You do a lot of traveling. How do you all raise funding to do this? Raise funding? I mean, oh, we, we, we, we try to do um uh fundraisers with our Children, but as far as with Boogie Wy Babies, we just, it's just, it's just, it's a, it's a job. So of course, I guess parents pay. Yes. So for, for the beyond the Boogie, we have tuition and everything. But for any anything extracurricular, you know, we take donations and then also we do fundraisers for our Children to go to um additional things such as workshops, conventions to get different exposure for different styles of dances or different teachers. You also have a performance dance team. We do, they go around different places in Montclair. Well, really different of New Jersey performing dances and they are this very close knit family where they go and they do workshops together. We're trying to have them go to a different workshop every month or at least every other month. So that they get those exposures that they can to learn about the different styles and the different types of teachers that are in the world. So it's not just us, but they get a little bit of everything. I want you to tell us what's in the video we're about to see because you sent me the cutest one ever of people dancing and perform forming. You got the boogie Woogie babies. Yes. Yes. So this is one of our studio classes. Um And then so like when the little ones age out of boogie, boogie babies, they can transition to Beyond the boogie and they can start taking, you know, everyday classes. So the songs that they get in Boogie Woogie Babies are familiar when they start taking classes at Beyond the Boogie. And when you say age out what age 2.5 and a half.

We are putting the spotlight on Boogie Woogie Babies and beyond the Boogie in Montclair. I have three lovely ladies and a cute little gentleman with me here in studio. Tell me about the video we're about to see because it's adorable. Tiffany. Um The the video we're looking at now is one of our typical library classes. So we go in during story time and instead of reading books, we sing songs and we dance uh caretakers or we call them big people um parents, they can be active with their little one. So it's not that just them going to a program and sitting, they get to go and actually be interactive and they kind of get a little workout in as well. So it's a really good time. It's like the club for a B for it looks like everybody's having a great Yes. Yes. Yes. It's like they are partying at like 10 30 in the morning and the camaraderie is fantastic. Do most of the people come from Mont Claire or do they come from all over for you? We go all over and then sometimes we have, we have little boogie Woogie babies, groupies sometimes they'll follow us to different libraries. But we have, we've been seeing, meeting so many different families from everywhere. It's been amazing. Tiffany, you're from Irvington. You started dancing in South Orange at the age of three. Yes. Yes. Tell us about your, like 10 years ago. Um Yes, I've been a professional dancer. I dance with my college dance team. Um I've traveled, um I've been on Sesame Street Live and, you know, different videos and I've trained in L A and New York. So now I'm kind of home and trying to give a little younger dancers, something that I had, I had a great uh dance upbringing with community. So I'm trying to get that back. So you bring all that experience with the big dance companies you have toured with here to Mont Claire. Yes. Yes. Yes. And people impressed. Well, I would hope so. I hope so. But um I feel like my experience speaks through my work and um yeah, I'm, I'm hoping that everyone's happy with what they get. And Nikita, you started in Scotch planes. I did. So, I mean, I started at the same age, Tiffany did. I was a little dancer. I danced throughout all of elementary, middle high school. When I got to college, I danced at my college as well. I was performing with a company here in New Jersey that was a little smaller. And then I realized that, you know, as much as I love to perform. I really wanted to teach it because I enjoyed and I wanted to have that passion. The same upbringing that I had, the joy that I had. I wanted to have other kids and do that same thing. You're also a board member of the associated dancer teacher of New Jersey. Yes, I am along with Tiffany. So we're part of this board and so we're helping to bring workshops, different commu different conventions and things to New Jersey to various studios here so that they have that opportunity that we have as well as connecting with other dance teachers about the struggles and the roadblocks that we experience and how we overcame to help other new growing studios overcome at the same time.

Tiffany Nikita. I want you all to tell me about this video. So this is a video of one of our adult classes. Let's got Judy. Shout out to one of our mature dancers. Yes. Get it. We offer um different styles for adults as well. So we offer ballet Bollywood tap, hip hop, uh chair stretch for anyone who's like in an injury. That's our tap class right there. Some of them are beginning. Everyone's always welcome. Doesn't matter your age level, your skill level or anything. If you wanna dance and you wanna get on the floor, just come and visit us. We'll help you get there. Definitely. It's just about having a good time and just moving our adult community is growing and they can keep growing. We love to have them. Look at them, kill this Bollywood dance. You can move a hip hop class and then that's our extreme hip hop class. It's basically like step aerobics. But so like hip hop music, they were having a glow in the dark party. It's a whole vibe there when they come to take class. Yes, definitely. This reminds me of a CDC. I think America's best dance crew, something like that. Yeah, you all are really good. So do a lot of people come here with no skills. It's mixed. People come who have taken classes for their whole childhood. They had to step back because life happened and then they wanted to get back and say class. So they come back and they take ballet, hip hop, whatever it may be or it could be that some people just wanted to tap for the first time because they saw so young Glover or whoever it may be, right? And so they say, well, I wanna take a class. So he said, come on in, what are your favorite classes and dances? Maybe like a grow or tap, maybe always jazz, jazz. You love jazz. Do you like the jazz hands? What kind of competitions do you enjoy taking part in? Yeah, tell me about those. What? That's like, what's that? Yeah. So really fun competing like to other dancers half my age and everything. I get to compete with people with my friends and everything. We get to see people's costumes and yeah. Do you like traveling and meeting other people at these? Yeah, that's really cool. Just traveling with my friends and everything. Do you like mentoring to the other little kids too that come to the studio? Do they get a kick out of watching you perform? And your little brother Kyle, does he like watching you? Does he copy you really a Li.

What are your future plans to continue being the best girl kids activity? So we just wanna keep um offering different styles of dance. We're trying to grow um our dancers, uh We still have enrollment. So if anyone needs any information as far as like young dancers or adult dancers. They can follow us on Facebook or Instagram at Beyond the Boogie Dance. We have our schedule up there as well as we're very active. You can keep up with our, we have an annual I we have a holiday show. Um You can always sponsor a dancer because we're trying to get to different workshops. And with Boogie Boogie Babies, we post a monthly calendar of all the different libraries. We'll be at what's involved in adopting a dancer. So we have some dancers who need some financial help so that they can go to conventions. They can continue moving forward with their dance career because they wanna take additional classes that they may not be able to right now. So with adopter dancer, you're gonna help that dancer be able to, to take an Afro class that they wanna take or be able to go to New York City with us for convention, for convention and classes. So just being able to push forward their career and dance skills, tell people why this is so special to all three of you. Well, I know for me it's special because I grew up dancing. I have lifelong friends that I have from dancing and some of my role models are just my teachers that I saw dancing who own their own studio, but they were my second mom, right? So I have this family atmosphere that I wanna make sure that I have where I am and I, and I in the studio that I have now. Exactly. Yes, definitely. I'm, I'm obsessed with dance. I love it and I've seen the opportunities that it's produced me and it's kinda like pass it along. Um, I've met my amazing partner through dance and we've just formed this whole thing and we're excited about it and we hope that it could just grow and sky. Why does it mean so much to you? Well, because my mom and her friend been doing this since they were little. So I wanna, I wanna make them proud so I can do it and maybe I could be like, just like them, love it.
