A woman faces charges after the SPCA found almost 100 cats inside her home in filthy conditions.
The New Jersey SPCA discovered the cats Thursday when agents went into the Chester home with a search warrant after receiving complaints from neighbors.
"The conditions are deplorable. There is feces throughout the home, in some areas it's as deep as 2 feet," Frank Rizzo, of the SPCA, says.
Wanda Oughton now faces 93 counts of improperly housing animals, according to police.
"They didn't want any of the cats removed. We did not give them a choice. We took the sickest that we could find for a total of 22," says Rizzo.
The rest, nearly 60 cats, are still in the house. Authorities couldn't find a shelter with enough space for them. Police plan to remove them within two weeks.
Oughton is scheduled to be in court April 9.
