A South Bound Brook mother was found guilty on Tuesday of fatally stabbing her 4-year-old son.
Elina Gutti, 38, was on trial for the Feb. 6, 2021 killing of her son.
Officials say that on the day of the murder, Gutti called 911 to report that she woke up to find her wrist cut and she did not know how it happened. They say that during the investigation they found the child dead inside Gutti’s bedroom. He was stabbed 17 times in the neck area
Officials say Gutti used a kitchen knife in the attack.
Gutti faces a mandatory life sentence without eligibility for parole.
