Possible human remains were found in a vacant lot in Wall Township on Tuesday.
Sources tell News 12 New Jersey that three sets of skeletal remains were found during an excavation on Narrumson Road.
Law enforcement officials would not provide many details. Police officers are on the scene guarding the area.
A spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office says that the office is involved in an investigation on the 1100 block of Narrumson Road but did not provide any additional details.
The spokesperson said that there does not seem to be any active danger to the public.
