A northern New Jersey man faces murder charges after his mother's remains were found in the trunk of her car.
Essex County prosecutors say 37-year-old William Logan also faces a weapons possession count. Bail was set at $2 million for the East Orange man, and it wasn't known Tuesday if he has retained an attorney.
Logan is charged in the death of his 62-year-old mother, Patricia Blocker, who had been reported missing.
East Orange police detectives who were looking for Blocker found her car around 2 p.m. Monday in Newark. Human remains were found in the trunk, and they have tentatively been identified as the East Orange woman.
A cause of death has not been determined, and authorities declined further comment on the investigation.
