A new social justice mural encouraging residents to vote now stands in Newark.
Residents can see the 30-foot-high portrait "Sojourner Truth, Founding Mother" on Edison Place.
It's in the back of the new home for Project Empty Space on Broad Street. A community art gallery and 50 artist studios are located there.
The mural honors Sojourner Truth's fight for women's suffrage and the centennial of 19th Amendment.
The mural was created by local artist Grace Lynne Haynes.
