The Rutgers School of Public Health has announced it will be abandoning Twitter in light of recent changes to the platform.
"As a school that espouses zero tolerance for harassment and discrimination, we've made the decision to leave," the school wrote on its Twitter page, which will not be disappearing entirely.
"While our school's account will remain a digital relic, we will no longer be active. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn," the post added.
In a separate statement, the school's dean said, "as a school that is rooted in the tenets of social justice and health equity, we will not be a part of a digital community that is rife with unrestricted and unmitigated hate speech and discrimination."
