As the Edison Planning Board readies to look at the redevelopment plans for the old Ford Motor site, residents have also been weighing in their opinions.
The proposed $450 million redevelopment plan includes stores, restaurants and a movie theater. Some residents say they are excited that something is finally being done with the land along Route 1 South. They say the redevelopment will attract more people to the area, create more jobs and bring in more revenue.
Other residents say the gains of the redevelopment may not outweigh the costs. They say traffic is already problematic in the area and another shopping center would just make it worse.
