The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of New Jersey until 8 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Franklin Park and Princeton until 4:30 p.m.
Severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued for Ocean, Mercer, Somerset, Monmouth and Middlesex counties until 5:15 p.m.
Storms are expected to bring downpours and strong winds before clearing out around 9 p.m. There's also a chance for lightning and small hail with these storms.
Forecasters say the rain should be a welcome sight, since it has been very dry lately.
Sunday will be mostly sunny with another chance for storms and highs around 87 degrees.
