Several students, driver injured after school bus crashes into tree in Robbinsville

Police say the bus was headed to Pond Road Middle School when it veered off Hankins Road around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Several students were hurt after a school bus crashed into a tree in Robbinsville.

Police say the bus was headed to Pond Road Middle School when it veered off Hankins Road around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Ten middle schoolers were on board. Most had minor injuries, but one student and the bus driver were taken to the hospital.

Robbinsville Schools Superintendent Dr. Patrick Pizzo said, "We understand that incidents like this can be unsettling for both students and families. Please know the Robbinsville Public Schools is here to support your children in any way possible."

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
