Anonymous email threats made against Seton Hall University have been determined not to be credible, university officials announced Tuesday.

The school bolstered security on campus Tuesday after staff received an anonymous email threatening violence on the South Orange campus.

“Law enforcement informs us that the messaging has been identified as similar to other threats directed at multiple institutions and organizations. Unfortunately, the entire nation and world have experienced a proliferation of similar despicable incidents aimed at anonymously causing disruption and sowing fear. Regardless, any threat to our community’s safety is taken extremely seriously, and the University activated its safety protocols immediately upon learning of the threatening email,” officials wrote in a statement.

All classes will resume in person on Wednesday.

Anyone who might have information about the emails is urged to contact the police.
