School official: 2 people injured after reports of gunfire at PCTI Institute football game

A spokesperson for the Lenape Regional High School District said they were informed about gunshots in the area and that two people needed medical attention at the conclusion of the game.

Two people were in need of medical attention following reports of gunfire at the Passaic County Technical Institute football game in Wayne Township, according to a spokesperson for the Lenape Regional High School District.
The spokesperson said that they were informed about gunshots in the area and that two people needed medical attention at the conclusion of the game. It was not clear how the people were hurt or if they were shot.
The spokesperson also stated that one person was taken into custody in relation to the incident.
Witnesses say that police arrived at the school around 8 p.m. PCTI was hosting Lenape for a high school football game.
One witness told News 12 that she heard gunshots that sounded like they came from the parking lot.
It was the first game of the scene. School is not yet in session.
News 12 New Jersey has reached out to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office for details and is waiting to hear back.
