Residents took part in a major scavenger hunt Saturday to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Bronx becoming its own county.
The scavenger hunt started at 10 a.m. outside the Bronx Courthouse. The 26 participating teams were each given a packet of 100 clues pointing to various places and landmarks throughout the borough.
The teams had until 5 p.m. to take team photos in front of as many answers to the clues. About half of the participants were Bronx residents. Many say they are happy for people to see that the Bronx is more than just Yankees Stadium and the Bronx Zoo.
The winning team will be receiving $2,500.
