More than 60 people in 22 states have been sickened with salmonella linked to raw oysters.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that includes six cases in New Jersey, seven in New York and two in Connecticut.
No recall has been issued because the common source has not been identified, officials said.
At least 20 people were hospitalized, according to the CDC. No deaths have been reported.
The Food and Drug Administration is also investigating.
