Saddle Brook residents are on edge with a recent string of residential burglaries in the area.
Since Jan. 1, police say they have responded to six home burglaries. And at the end of February, they say suspects entered the home twice to find a key fob. Eventually, the homeowner came downstairs to scare them off.
In four of these cases, cars were stolen and individuals entered the home to get key fobs to high end cars, police say. All the burglaries happened between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Saddle Brook police say with the increased crime trend throughout Bergen County, they are working with multiple towns to identify all suspects involved. And it's not just home break ins. According to police, thieves are also breaking into unlocked cars to steal items inside.
Police are reminding residents to lock all doors and windows to your car and home.
