Power was restored, and classes resumed on the Rutgers University Cook and Douglass campuses after a widespread power outage.
About 3,000 students were temporarily displaced due to the outage on Wednesday evening.
Students say the school kept them updated as things changed, and was well-prepared for the unusual situation.
The relocated students were offered cots at the university's recreation centers.
"They handled it really well. They gave us power strips and things like that to charge our phones and stuff like that, they had Wi-Fi in there, everything was alright," says freshman John Lecompte.
The issue started with intermittent power outages throughout the week, and all came to a head Wednesday evening.
