Roxbury police are looking for a man who robbed a LukOil gas station at Eyland Avenue and Route 10. The robbery prompted a lockdown at a nearby school.
The robbery happened at around 11 a.m. Wednesday. Station attendant Emilio Rivera says the suspect stated that he wanted to buy cigarettes and then pulled out a gun.
"He said you better give me the money or I'm going to kill you," says Rivera.
Rivera handed the man approximately $1,500 from the cash drawer. However, the suspect demanded more money from the safe. Rivera said he was too rattled to open the safe and the suspect ran out of the store.
Police were called and had the local schools placed on lockdown while they searched for the man.
The whole robbery was caught on the gas station's surveillance camera. Anyone who may recognize the suspect is urged to call Roxbury police at 973-448-2037.
