Some lanes on Route 18 in Middlesex County are reopening in time for the evening commute after they were closed for the entire morning.

East Brunswick police say that the highway was closed in both directions on Wednesday night between Rues Lane and Main Street because of a crash.

Crews remained on the scene Thursday morning to repair utility poles and secure wires after the crash took them down. The incident left some nearby businesses without power.

Traffic in the area is still slowed down.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation says repairs are expected to be fully completed by Friday morning.
