A person attempting to cross an intersection in North Bergen early this morning was fatally struck by a vehicle.
News 12 obtained surveillance camera footage from the owner of R&S Wash and Lube. It shows the unnamed victim waiting to cross the intersection of 91st Street and Tonnelle Avenue. That person is then hit by a driver, almost out of camera view.
A section of Route 1&9 had to be temporarily shut down for the morning commute.
Santos Leusenilton, the owner of R&S Wash and Lube, says he's seen numerous incidents over the 30 years of being in this spot.
"They have to do something with this corner over here…There's lot of problems over here," he said.
News 12 reached out to police for more information about the incident and the victim.
